There's no doubt that your Z would smoke that thing in a "highway race", but looks like you are conceding that fun motors produce torque across the rev range, not just at the top. And I think in general that the turbo crowd has a skewed frame of reference when it comes to deciding whether a particular turbo motor is "laggy." One drive in a good LS6 kinda resets your reference. There is nothing like a good turbo motor, but there is also nothing like a good V8. I know this because I have both! The Z06 is a well-balanced car: good motor, good chassis, decent comfort. Have to consider the price, however. $50K is a lot of money, half the price of a house in some locations! RSR
